Podcast: Our Culture of Public Shaming

Mere FidelityThe latest Mere Fidelity podcast has gone online. This week, Derek Rishmawy, Andrew Wilson, Matt Lee Anderson, and I discuss the contemporary culture of public shaming. We take our starting point in Jon Ronson’s New York Times Magazine article, ‘How One Stupid Tweet Blew Up Justine Sacco’s Life’ and also reference Jonathan Chait’s recent piece, ‘Not A Very P.C. Thing To Say’. Lots of controversial things are said within this one, so I will be interested to hear your comments, either here or over on Mere Orthodoxy.
