Equality

A good reminder that general agreement on the principle of human equality actually gives us very little in the way of practical agreement.

    I was just reading Oliver O’Donovan today on equality. He had a lot of coherent things to say about the necessity of grounding equality in theology, yet the problems of trying to found a theory of justice exclusively or primarily on equality: Ways of Judgment, chapter 3.
